Postponing mothers day? Nah

Tiptoeing around the kitchen cooking your Mum a gourmet-style breakfast, pouring hot water into her favourite mug and then sneaking into her bedroom for a big Mother's Day surprise
When I put a plate of dry toast and a cup of hot water on her bed I can't say she was too impressed when she opened her eyes- but it is the thought that counts.
With the UK pretty much on lockdown it's hard to think about all the people unable to receive that warm cuddle from your mum, nans, great grans today that unfortunately, nobody can compare too. We all know it's for the best and that's why postponing this special day has to happen.
Fortunately, I was able to come home from University to a full house containing my four-year-old sister, nine-year-old brother, dad and mum. Despite the hardship of what is going on around us daily, I know most families are spending quality time together and forced into social interaction because we are not glued to our phones which to me is a wonderful thought.
Luckily we are celebrating Mother's day as a family but will be holding a second one with grandparents once we know it's safe (Meaning a big roast dinner which I can't say I'm too sad about) I'm sure wishes and appreciation will be primarily on Facetime, Skype and Whatsapp and I want to see as many screenshots posted on Facebook and Twitter so we can all share some smiles and love for one another.
My Mum is currently on the phone now wishing everyone a happy mother's day and making sure everyone has something to smile about. It makes me laugh when she is on the phone because we all get nosey in the house and want to say our bit too, including me. Hearing my Nan's giggle down the phone is all I needed to hear to know she is feeling special and loved despite self-isolating with her eighty-eight-year-old Mum.
Today is a special day for us all and honestly seeing everyone pull together and keeping the community spirit up in such a dull time has been emotional to see across social media platforms. Share your pictures, tell us what you are doing with your Mum today, the Facetime calls, the funny things these precious women are doing- because I certainly don't know what I would do without my Mum.
Without getting too soppy, my Mum is my inspiration and even more so my bestfriend. Happy Mother's day to everyone reading this and know you all really are super heroes. Even if it is a bit of toast, a candle-lit bath or a cup of coffee, there's plenty to do for our Mum's today.
Stay smiling,
Zhara
